Objectives OB.1: Identify and share the most effective strategies for adapting to climate change and protecting soil in each participating country, with the aim of enriching knowledge and strengthening local capacities. OB.2: Work on the creation of agroecological gardens that promote local production of nutritious and sustainable food, in line with the Farm to Fork Strategy (FtFS), empowering people in rural areas who manage small farms. OB.3: Foster international collaboration: establish lasting relationships between participating entities in Italy, Portugal and Spain, promoting collaboration and continuous learning in the field of agroecology and the fight against climate change.
This project stems from the needs analysis carried out by the three participating entities on food sustainability in a context of environmental degradation and increasing resource scarcity due to climate change. Taking as a reference the European Green Deal, which seeks to transform the EU into a modern, resource-efficient and competitive economy. The link between healthy people, healthy societies and a healthy planet places sustainable food systems at the heart of the European Green Deal. In particular, we focus on being part of a global transition towards competitive sustainability from the FtFS, where we want to work especially in the area of the EU's “socially sustainable CAP” with our local young farmers and the young people participating in the activities; and also on the EU's “economic sustainability objective”, where agriculture and forestry can provide sustainable economic benefits in our partner regions. This project seeks to train young participants in these policy frameworks so that they can assist in their implementation and professionalisation.
