Objectives

One employee study visit and one youth exchange were implemented with the grant. The study visit was attended by workshop staff and the youth exchange was also implemented from targeted youth work; young people and employees came from outreach youth work and workshop activities. The study visit was carried out so that the staff would have the opportunity to develop international competence, find new partners from abroad and gain new ideas and perspectives for workshop work. The participants wanted to learn new methods that could be used in their own work and in guiding young people. They also wanted to see how youth work is carried out elsewhere, hear how young people are supported towards studies and working life, get to know the culture of another country and increase community among their own work group. Some of the goals were to develop English language skills and communication in a foreign language. By implementing the youth exchange for disadvantaged people, we wanted to promote the fact that internationality is a cross-cutting activity throughout the entire organization. We wanted to increase the internationalization and inclusion of disadvantaged people. We wanted to contribute to the social empowerment of disadvantaged young people through international youth work, including, among other things, strengthening agency, community spirit, and discovering one's own strengths. We wanted to pilot new operating models. We also wanted to promote internationalization skills among employed people. We wanted to enable the benefits of internationalization for disadvantaged young people. We wanted to create the conditions, support and promote international, multicultural encounters, activities and active participation of young people from all socio-economic backgrounds. We wanted to develop the international competence and project skills of the staff and find suitable partners. We wanted to develop the youth work carried out by our organization. We wanted to involve and commit young people in the planning and implementation of youth services.
