Objectives

The project aimed to strengthen the capacity of youth workers and young people within the YMCA network to respond to current societal challenges. We wanted to provide young people with a platform for learning, knowledge exchange and networking, to find solutions to the challenges that affect them and their communities. The first objective was to share best practices and tools in youth work, ensuring continuous improvement. Understanding and implementing Vision 2030, as well as learning and improving the YMCA Peacework Approach to equip youth workers with new perspectives and peace-building skills were cross-cutting thematics in the project. By exchanging knowledge and tools across these themes, the objective was to empower youth workers to stay adaptable and address evolving needs of young people. The objective for the youth mobility was to increase participants' understanding of challenges affecting youth globally and regionally. Encouraging youth to identify and leverage their strengths, fosters active participation in society and encourages young people to advocate for their rights. Emphasising the importance of global solidarity and cooperation for achieving peace and sustainable development, the planned projects aimed at acting as a catalyst for heightened awareness. By creating a platform for young people with fewer opportunities to participate, the YMCA supports them in finding the enthusiasm and motivation to promote sustainable development and engage in active citizenship.
