The implementation of this project was guided by the long-term objectives defined in Sorin Sirkus strategy and organisational development plan. The project aimed to strengthen youth participation, promote international learning, support the co-development of youth work practices with European partners, and disseminate the expertise accumulated through decades of work in youth circus and social circus. Our first objective was to strengthen young people’s participation and support their growth as active European citizens. We wanted to provide young people with opportunities to engage in international activities that increase their confidence, agency, and understanding of European cooperation. We aimed to involve young people more actively in the planning and implementation of activities while ensuring that international opportunities remained accessible to young people with fewer opportunities and those facing social, economic, geographical, or other barriers to participation. Our second objective was learning from others. International cooperation provides valuable opportunities to learn from different cultures, pedagogical approaches, and youth work practices. We aimed to broaden the perspectives of both young people and youth workers, strengthen intercultural understanding, and bring new methods and ideas into our local youth work. Through exchanges and cooperation, participants were encouraged to reflect on their own practices and learn from the experiences of others. Our third objective was co-development. We wanted mobility activities to serve as platforms for collective learning and development by sharing methods, good practices, and experiences with European partners. The objective was to improve the quality, accessibility, and impact of youth work while developing new projects, training opportunities, educational resources, and forms of cooperation that respond to the evolving needs of young people and youth workers. Our fourth objective was the dissemination and sharing of accumulated expertise. Sorin Sirkus has extensive experience in working with children and young people and in developing social circus practices. We aimed to share this expertise with the wider European youth work field through trainings, seminars, partnerships, and international projects while also learning from the experiences and good practices of other organisations. We wanted to strengthen our role as an active contributor, developer, and facilitator of international cooperation. In addition to these four strategic objectives, we aimed to strengthen the competences of youth workers and circus professionals, improve our organisational capacity for international cooperation, and build sustainable structures for long-term international work. International mobility was not viewed as an isolated activity but as an integral part of developing high-quality youth work. Our goal was to ensure that the learning generated through international cooperation would benefit the entire organisation, its young people, staff members, and partner networks, while contributing to more inclusive, participatory, and high-quality youth work.
