The main goal of the project was to provide internationalization opportunities for young people living in small rural communities, as well as to increase their cultural knowledge and tolerance. We wanted to encourage young people to take an active role in planning and implementing projects. The youth came up with activities through which they learned new skills and knowledge together in three different themes: culture, creativity and arts, agriculture and forestry and fishing, and human rights and laws. The exchange was a fitting 'blast' of all this, not forgetting sauna culture. The youth exchange aimed to increase youth participation, active citizenship, and strengthen European identity. The exchange promoted the international competence of young people and provided an opportunity to develop as a person and form new international friendships. Involvement of new actors opened up opportunities for young people’s international activities in the future.
