The primary aim of this project was to strengthen youth participation and engagement within civil society by training youth workers, leaders, and educators to support innovative, inclusive, and democratic practices in youth work. The increasing challenges of youth engagement, social exclusion, and the need for meaningful civic participation highlighted the necessity of empowering youth workers with advanced skills and tools to address these issues. Moreover, the project's design acknowledged the diversity of cultural and social contexts across participating countries, emphasizing the need to create strategies that are inclusive, equitable, and effective. By collaborating with partner organizations, we sought to ensure that young people—especially those from marginalized or disadvantaged backgrounds—have access to opportunities that enable them to contribute actively to their communities. The objectives of the project were: - Enhance understanding of youth participation principles. - Build a common understanding of participation and explore its promotion among disadvantaged youth in civil society and local/regional activities. - Clarify the relationship between citizenship, participation, human rights, democracy, and civil society. - Introduce participants to various concepts and methods for creating youth initiatives. - Improve participants' project management abilities for participation-focused projects. - Acknowledge the value of participation processes that involve public authorities and youth workers/organizations. - Improve the ability to apply the revised European Charter on the Participation of Young People in Local and Regional Life. - Promote the sharing of best practices in developing and managing youth participation projects. - Develop cross-sectoral cooperation between various stakeholders and institutions, like Youth NGOs, youth centers, clubs, and municipalities. - Innovate tools and methods to enhance and evolve ongoing projects. In summary, the project focused on promoting youth engagement, social inclusion, and democratic participation through capacity-building, innovation, and cross-sectoral cooperation, ensuring that youth workers are equipped to empower young people to become active, responsible, and impactful citizens.
