The aim of the project was to develop new operational models for the foundation’s youth services to enhance young people’s participation through methods of international youth work. The intention was to integrate internationality into the youth services of the Elävä Foundation to bring added value. Including internationality as part of the foundation’s youth workshop activities was seen as a way to provide young people with valuable experiences, new skills, social empowerment, and a sense of inclusion. The project aimed to achieve the following: Administrative and strategic competence, as well as expertise, in implementing international youth work Exploring Erasmus+ programme project opportunities through hands-on learning Creating new collaboration networks regionally, nationally, and internationally Inspiring and activating the foundation’s youth team to embed international youth work into youth workshop activities (digitalisation, diversity, non-formal learning) Developing a strategy for international youth work and applying for accreditation, serving as an example, support, and enabler for other youth workshops With our project, we aimed to strengthen our own professional skills and understanding of internationality. One of our concrete objectives was to apply for accreditation in international youth work.
