We wanted to build on our international outreach efforts by offering internship mobility opportunities for students, while also encouraging our BTS staff to get involved in this initiative. We aimed to continue the internship mobility program for our BTS students—who are required to complete a professional, credit-bearing company internship—while anticipating a growing number of volunteers. We particularly wanted to see more female students applying for these opportunities. We sought to secure placements in Ireland and the Seychelles, which had previously proven highly successful, and to expand into other countries such as Germany and Spain, whose languages are taught at our school. We envisioned this outreach extending not only across Europe but also to countries in the Indian Ocean region. We also wanted to strengthen ties with the Seychelles Tourism Academy (STA)—the key training institution in the Seychelles responsible for placing and managing all students in the hospitality and catering sectors. Given that our newly renovated school boasts superb facilities—including outstanding bakery, pastry, and culinary workshops—we wanted to offer training to STA staff on our premises.
