Objectives

The project was fully aligned with Lycée Le Dantec's international and European strategy. Since receiving the Erasmus+ Charter in 2014, international mobility has become a key part of our institution's development strategy and an essential component of our educational approach for both students and staff. The main objective of the project was to give students the opportunity to gain professional experience abroad that is directly linked to their studies. The mobilities mainly involved students from the BTS International Trade programme, for whom an international work placement is an integral part of the curriculum. These experiences enable students to apply the knowledge and skills acquired during their studies, develop their autonomy, improve their language skills and discover different professional practices in an international environment. They also help students build confidence, broaden their career prospects and prepare for employment in an increasingly international labour market. Another important objective was to ensure that these opportunities were accessible to all students. Particular attention was paid to participants with fewer opportunities so that financial, social or personal circumstances would not prevent them from taking part. Our aim is to ensure that every student who wishes to participate in an international mobility can do so with appropriate support. Beyond the BTS International Trade programme, we also sought to promote Erasmus+ opportunities among the other higher education programmes offered by our institution. Lycée Le Dantec offers five Higher National Diploma (BTS) programmes and one Professional Bachelor's Degree in partnership with a university. Throughout the year, information sessions and awareness-raising activities are organised to encourage students from all programmes to consider international mobility as part of their studies. The project also aimed to strengthen staff skills. Training mobilities enabled teachers to improve their professional and language skills, discover new teaching methods and educational approaches, and develop closer links with European partners. These experiences contribute directly to the quality of teaching and student support within the institution. Finally, we wanted each mobility to be much more than a professional experience. Through placements in several European countries and in Thailand, students were able to discover different cultures, working methods and ways of life. After returning, they shared their experiences with the next cohort of BTS International Trade students during dedicated information sessions. These testimonials play an important role in promoting Erasmus+, inspiring future participants and strengthening the international culture of our institution. Overall, the project aimed to reinforce the European and international dimension of Lycée Le Dantec, enhance the professional, linguistic and intercultural competences of both students and staff, and contribute to the development of open-minded, internationally aware European citizens.
