Objectives

The Erasmus programme is fully in line with the Marie and Louis Pasteur University (UMLP) international policy, which is based on consolidating its partnerships, enhancing its influence and visibility at the European level, and developing international collaborations around its key areas. More specifically, this project helped to intensify the institution’s internationalisation drive by strengthening and streamlining existing partnerships, in line with students’ educational needs. It also facilitated the development and delivery of internationally oriented programmes, whilst improving the quality of mobility schemes as well as of support and reception arrangements. The STARS EU alliance, to which UMLP belongs, is the driving force behind this dynamic and the Erasmus program is one of its main tools. At the alliance level, the organisation of the following activities is expected by 2027: a coordinated program of mobility, 155 internships, 30 joint teaching units, 64 micro-certifications, 12 double degrees (L/M), 8 new doctoral degrees and 78 BIPs. Regarding the latter, the growing interest shown by students and staff since their launch as part of the 2022 project has led the university to include the development of innovative teaching methods within this framework among the priorities of the 2024 project. Moreover, the project enabled the university to pursue the organisation of ‘successful’ mobility schemes – that is, those that are well-prepared, validated, recognised and promoted. It has also reinforced the university’s commitment to more sustainable and inclusive mobility. Following this purpose, funding dedicated to eco-friendly transport and support schemes for inclusion proved to be particularly effective levers, complementing the measures already implemented by the institution. Then, the project served as a key framework for the evaluation and continuous improvement of the welcome initiatives carried out as part of UMLP’s “Bienvenue en France” strategy. It contributed to a positive evaluation, which led to the accreditation renewal in 2025. Finally, the UMLP continued its strategy to develop staff mobility, focusing on several objectives: encouraging their involvement in international development initiatives, particularly within the activities of the STARS EU alliance; strengthening their skills and encouraging the adoption of innovative teaching practices; contributing to the modernisation of the curriculum; and reinforcing their European citizenship.
