By implementing this project, we sought to further the international development outlined in the school’s mission statement. Expanding student and faculty mobility is essential given the geographical, economic, and social context of French Polynesia. From a geographical perspective: The Territory is far from Europe, and international mobility—as well as mobility within Europe—could not be organized without ERASMUS funding. From an economic and social perspective: Polynesian students have very few opportunities to leave Polynesia. The economic and social context does not allow them to consider traveling outside of Polynesia. The implementation of this project enables this vulnerable group to discover other ways of working before entering the workforce. Teachers can also benefit from mobility programs to improve their language skills or to teach and discover other teaching methods in Europe and in nearby countries (New Zealand, Australia, Canada).
