We implemented the Digital Skills project to sustainably strengthen the skills of digital mediators by providing them with practical resources, innovative training content, and tools adapted to real-world challenges. Our objectives were to produce two practical guides based on European best practices, to develop training modules tested locally, and to promote the adoption of key professional attitudes: empathy, communication, and adaptability. In parallel, we aimed to create a transnational dynamic of exchange between digital mediation professionals, in order to enrich pedagogical approaches and foster social innovation in the sector. Through this project, we also strengthened the capacities of our organisations to produce, disseminate, and deliver collaborative learning content, while improving the quality of support provided to the most digitally excluded groups.
We launched the Digital Skills project to respond to an urgent need: strengthening the skills of digital mediators and support workers in addressing the digital divide, which primarily affects vulnerable groups (seniors, migrants, people with disabilities, etc.). These professionals play a key role, but often lack appropriate tools and specific knowledge about these audiences, limiting their ability to adapt their approach and workshops effectively. This cooperation project provided them with practical resources and skills development based on the best European practices in the field, with the aim of sustainably improving their capacity to support people who are digitally excluded.
