Develop scientific skills by promoting a culture of excellence and equal opportunities Understand the interaction between earthquakes and marine biodiversity Raise environmental awareness and prevent the impacts of natural disasters Foster collaboration and international teamwork
The project "Embark to Discover the Impact of Earthquakes on Marine Biodiversity - FrenchShip" was designed to address the educational, cultural, and motivational needs of 16- and 17-year-old high school students from France, Greece, and Turkey, through an experimental, collaborative, and technology-driven scientific approach to better understand the interaction between earthquakes, their origins, causes, and impacts on the environment and marine biodiversity. This immersive scientific approach, utilizing sailing and scientific exploration, is innovative in several ways: It structures students' learning by providing them with scientific analysis tools based on observation, experimentation, and knowledge. It connects scientific concepts to concrete environmental issues. It fosters critical thinking and civic awareness, aligned with European values and inclusion. It encourages international cooperation and openness to diverse scientific and cultural approaches.
