Objectives

Our objectives in this 2024 YOU project were clearly set out in our agreement - Objective 1: Build an inclusive, friendly and tolerant European society. Our tool for cohesion is music played together, which, through the sharing of emotions, creates a climate of fraternity and mutual respect. Youth exchanges are a unique opportunity to include young people, especially those from stigmatised minorities (migrants, Roma, disabled people) from France and partner countries, in a friendly, multilingual, international atmosphere that allows them to feel accepted. This atmosphere allows them to discuss various issues that are essential for developing their analytical and critical thinking skills and prevents them from becoming isolated and communitarian, which makes them easy prey for hate speech and radicalisation. - Objective 2: Encourage young people to get committed, enable them to forge social ties, feel valued and useful, and regain their self-confidence. Youth exchanges are an essential gateway to sparking a desire to discover other places and creating opportunities for engagement. - Objective 3: Culture is a fundamental right and a tool that is more essential than ever for living together. The mobility of youth social workers is geared towards “training in social involvement” for cultural actors, enabling young artists and social workers to be equipped and efficient in their commitment to include those left out of culture through practices/tools adapted to these audiences. The need for actors with both social and artistic skills is crucial in resolving issues such as migration, communitarianism, social division, nationalism and conflict. Training artists in social engagement can enable them to find jobs in a field that combines their artistic and educational abilities with the social skills they have acquired. - Objective 4: The development of such training requires studying its impact, disseminating information to raise its profile, and ensuring that decision-makers recognise its societal value and its compatibility with both European and local policies. DURING THESE 2024-YOU MOBILITY PROGRAMMES, in order to achieve these objectives, we have sought in particular to - Develop our partnerships with European NGOs that, like us, use the arts (including music) as a tool for inclusion. - Reflect on how to improve and develop tools and know-how to give artists new skills for a social role - Promote intercultural dialogue, knowledge and curiosity about others from other countries, cultures and languages, mainly youngsters who have to face obstacles, because of nowadays conflicts or discriminations, to go on in their personal projects.
