Objectives

With this annual project, we are pursuing the objectives we set out in the accreditation, namely: 1/ Promoting cultural openness and the ability to live and work together. 2/ Educating the public about respect for the environment. 3/ Developing a sense of European citizenship by promoting social inclusion and combating discrimination. These objectives are linked to the humanist values of our association, which is committed to social issues such as social justice and ecology. Solafrika uses non-formal education tools to promote solidarity and living together, and aims to support social interaction and diversity. In this sense, we seek to participate in and promote initiatives for and by European youth, in particular by offering learning and experimentation spaces that are as safe as possible. We are committed to creating diversity (social, cultural, gender, etc.), in the hope of encouraging openness to others and thus promoting solidarity, citizenship, and the fight against discrimination. Our projects are carefully designed with content and organization that address these objectives in a cross-cutting manner. Even though each stay focuses on a specific objective, the three objectives of our accreditation are always present (in the organization, implementation, location, specific activities, etc.). For the A1 training course project “Welcome,” the objectives were to: - share best practices in welcoming migrants and refugees, particularly minors - promote the idea of solidarity and respect for human rights - create links between exiles and the local population - find ways to combat hate speech within our youth structures For the A2 training course project “Sharpen Up,” the objectives were to: - provide tools to combat individualism by emphasizing the importance of the collective - improve collective decision-making and effective communication using sociocracy tools within youth structures and in our work with children/young people - Promote cultural openness and the ability to live and work together. For the A3 youth exchange project “The Dark Side of Fashion,” the objectives were to: - Understand the impact of fast fashion on the planet and textile workers, - Explore alternatives, - Learn practical manual skills All projects included the following objectives: - Create a temporary community; - Build trust and create bonds between participants so that they feel the power of community and networking; - Inspire through action and tools to help our minds focus on a desirable future; - Establish intercultural and international cooperation and solidarity; - Implement eco-friendly practices during the stay (local, organic, and vegetarian food, etc.).
