Objectives

A first Franco-Portuguese exchange on the theme "Organic short circuits, restoration and waste management" took place in Portugal in July 2023. Bringing together young people in the field of child protection, this project led to the renewal of the experience on an extension of the theme "Culture and synergy sustainable development in Southern Burgundy" (Saône-et-Loire) which took place in Cuisery ( 71) at the EDEN Center, center for education on the environment and sustainable development made possible thanks to the support of the department of Saône-et-Loire. The President, André ACCARY, received the Portuguese and French delegations in the hemicycle of the departmental council and congratulated the organizers and young people for the quality of the project and the program that resulted. This project, with essentially the same child protection participants and the same structures, has continued a non-formal education work around sustainable development by taking as support the cultural dimension which some economists think would be the 5th pillar of this type of development and that it would complement the 4 others namely an articulation between: the economy, the social, the environment and the mode of democratic governance. The Saône-et-Loire (South Burgundy) hosted this exchange of young Franco-Portuguese to that they: - discover the main tourist and cultural sites/ - participate in certain activities offered by these sites - analyse how they are a component of sustainable development - report their observations to a wide audience The young French had to - prepare the visits through a tracking already done - carry out surveys using either questionnaires or, better still, the technique of the interview - report daily on daily discoveries by maintaining a digital journal based on EUROPLATEFORM71, integrated into the EUROPAFORM71 website. This investigative work is fully embedded in non-formal education. Portuguese youth also reported on one or more site visits to their regions that contribute to sustainable development.
