We wanted to carry out this youth exchange as this offer we received from young people from France, Armenia and Georgia who participated in another youth exchange carried out in Armenia about media literacy late in 2023. As they stated, they got inspired for this specific topic, being in Armenia and exploring and exchanging the cultures of each other on the spot during the informal meetings and talks. This resulted in growing interest towards each others’ cultures and specificities to know more and to learn from each other and thus, be competent in intercultural communication and dialogue. The aim of the project was to empower young people to navigate diverse cultural perspectives, appreciate their own cultural heritage, and develop genuine respect for one another by fostering intercultural communication skills and self-awareness. The youth exchange was based on Experiential Learning and correspondingly the objectives of the project were the following: -Empower young people to delve deeper into their own cultural heritage through special tasks of preparation, sparking self-growth and fostering a spirit of exchange and learning with their peers; -Cultivate the skills necessary for effective intercultural communication and collaboration, allowing young people to navigate and thrive in a diverse world; -Promote compassion and dialogue among young people, leveraging cultural differences as a source of strength and understanding to build a more inclusive and connected community; -Design lasting follow-up activities inspired by the project's success, ensuring a ripple effect of quality improvements and sustainable impact on youth work practices.
