Objectives

The main objectives of this tri-national project were: - To raise young people's awareness of cultural rights and give them the tools to seize them, questioning the place that culture has in our societies and how it could be enhanced. - To use art to strengthen encounters, with a creative process in which young people remain at the centre, but benefit from the support of professionals and local companies who are keen to sharpen their teaching skills for working with intercultural audiences. - Highlighting the local archaeological heritage and the historical narrative that accompanies it, and raising awareness among young people of the importance of this often little-known resource. - To help open up the minds of the group and deconstruct stereotypes and prejudices, by creating a space for encounters and understanding. Given the current context, our association is aware of the importance of these exchanges in strengthening the feeling of global confidence and fighting against the rise of nationalism. For this, the best remains to ‘do things together’. - To empower young people and give them the means to become active citizens, in particular through the use of non-formal education methods, but also through exchanges with local elected representatives and volunteers to understand the different dimensions of civic commitment. - To encourage young people to take an active part in decision-making about the programme, and in carrying out everyday tasks, so that they gain in autonomy and self-confidence, and feel they have a legitimate right to express their opinions as part of a group. - To create links between the international group of young people and the local population, not only through the collaboration of the various Breton parties but also by organising convivial events where the two groups can meet. - Discovering ecological initiatives. The ecological dimension will have been an integral part of the project. From the choice of transport to get to Finistère to the meals served on the plates, the whole organisation of the project was thought through in such a way as to limit the carbon impact and to raise awareness among young people of environmentally-friendly alternatives.
