Objectives

This project is run by the Union Régionale pour l'Habitat des Jeunes Centre-Val de Loire (URHAJ), which coordinates a network of 14 members offering housing for young people aged 16 to 30 who are working, training or on a path to integration. The project involves organizing a week-long youth exchange with a partner organization in Greece, InterAlia, on the theme of European citizenship. The project is aimed at young people with fewer opportunities, who encounter social, economic and/or personal difficulties, and who have little access to international mobility. The mobility project aims to encourage young people to become players in their own development, by enabling them to make their voices heard, raise awareness of their rights, and take part in public debate and democratic life as European citizens. To achieve this, URHAJ and its partner INTERALIA are proposing to support, develop and train young people in the use of collaborative artistic and digital tools via a photo exhibition "Té Ki T'M Koi?", a Timeline "The evolution of rights/Victory of equality", a cartography "Being a citizen in Europe", etc., so that these young people are able to speak out and take part in democratic life. In terms of effects and results, the mobility project aims to: stimulate dialogue and intercultural learning, as well as a sense of belonging to Europe; develop young people's expertise for their personal and professional lives, by reducing inequalities between young people (access to greater autonomy, peer support within youth communities, etc.); raise young people's awareness of social issues (and in the case of our project, make them aware of their rights and enable them to express them); and stimulate and nurture their commitment to society and active participation within a community. ...); to raise young people's awareness of social issues (and in the case of our project, to make them aware of their rights and enable them to express them); and to stimulate and nurture their commitment to society and their active participation within a community of young people, and more broadly across Europe. The project also incorporates an ecological dimension, respecting the environment and promoting sustainable, responsible behavior. The project is part of an overall strategy by Habitat Jeunes Centre-Val de Loire, which has been organizing citizen youth weekends on different themes since 2015. The project is funded by the Erasmus+ Youth and Sport program, which supports mobility and non-formal education projects for young people in Europe.
