Established in Alsace three years ago through its local branch, Solidarités Jeunesses is keen to continue organizing intercultural projects with its local partners. The various links it has forged with local residents, as well as a deeper understanding of the region's resources have encouraged it to promote Alsace's culinary heritage. The aim of the youth exchange was to discover the culinary specialties of Alsace and, more broadly, of France. This context also encouraged the sharing of specialties from other European regions. The project was designed around various activities such as tastings, meetings with local personalities (residents, producers, actors in the field...), cooking workshops with those people, reflection and sharing on our food consumption habits, our environmental impact... More specifically, the exchange had the following objectives: - Discover, reflect on and analyze food production methods, particularly artisanal, in all participating countries; - Encourage a critical approach and vision of food systems; - Approach the subject from an intercultural perspective and thus analyze and understand food practices - from production to consumption, including food reuse and waste - on different scales, from local to global; - Mobilize and involve participants and local residents in sustainable, mutually supportive practices that benefit people and respect the environment, in terms of both production and consumption; - Encourage intercultural encounters by valuing each culture and promoting constructive exchanges.
