Objectives

Our organizations, whose activities are particularly linked to youth work, engagement, and mobility, are being hit hard by the necessary ecological, social, and solidarity-based transition that we must undertake as quickly as possible. International mobility has a very negative impact on the climate and biodiversity. Our youth organizations, which work to provide opportunities for engagement and mobility, need to be equipped, supported, and able to reflect together in order to propose coherent and concrete solutions at the European level. These solutions should reduce emissions linked to current practices in the organization of our international exchanges and activities, but also enable us to go further in involving young people themselves in today's ecological challenges. Our association, Etudes et Chantiers Engagement Civique (ECEnCi), felt the need to discuss these issues, but also to develop our skills, train ourselves, and be supported in the transition towards ecological change, which we have been doing for over a year. Our partner, JAVVA, was also sensitive to these issues and motivated to work together in partnership to achieve this goal. This project proposed initiating cross-border partnership work to enable stakeholders to develop their skills, exchange practices, acquire new knowledge, and build collective intelligence, with a view to producing an action plan to initiate change in our practices in favor of ecological transition. The implementation of the action plan itself was to lead to the development of other projects, but unfortunately we were not successful (as will be explained in various sections of this final report). Our project was part of our desire to continue our actions in the field of the environment and, more generally, the ecological transition, in which our association has been heavily involved for two years now. By opening up our approach to a European dimension of partnership-based work, this should have multiplied the national (in two countries) and international (the way of collaborating, exchanging, and carrying out projects between international partners) impact of our future actions concerning the engagement and mobility of young Europeans. This project sought to provide our youth professionals with a space for learning and meeting, which would enable the creation of conditions conducive to changing their practices and those of their organization in favor of ecological transition. Here are the objectives we sought to achieve with this youth worker mobility project: 1) Work on the issue of ecological transition 2) Open up a high-impact international dimension of work with cross-border partners 3) Enable a change in practices that modifies our current impact on the environment
