Our project aimed to merge the worlds of art and sustainable development to equip youth leaders with the tools, skills and knowledge to promote responsible environmental practices among young people. The main objective was to raise awareness of sustainable living through creative workshops, focusing on the 10 R principles (Refuse, Rethink, Reduce, Reuse, Repair, Restore, Remanufacture, “Repurpose”, Recycl", “Recover” ). We wanted to show that reused and recycled objects can still have value, style and utility. By involving the socio-educational animators in practical artistic activities, such as ecological printing, handmade crafts and creative recycling, they found inspiration and acquired practical tools to implement similar projects in their own communities. This project follows on from previous Eurasia Net initiatives, such as Re'Gen, FADAS and the Climate Generation Program, which focused on involving young people in environmental action. Our ultimate aim was to create a network of young workers engaged in sustainable development and the creative arts across Europe, in order to foster long-term impact and multiply good practice.
