This project, led by the Fédération Territoriale EST of the MFRs in Bourgogne-Franche-Comté, is part of an active citizenship approach aimed at giving a strong voice to rural youth. The central objective was to break geographic and social isolation by allowing these young people to become the main actors in regional dynamics, while preparing for their participation in a national synthesis event in Strasbourg. The ambition was to transform the living environment of rural youth into a laboratory for civic initiatives. We wanted to demonstrate that, through tailored support involving instructors, external speakers, and board members, young people are capable of delivering universal messages (peace, health, ecology, solidarity) based on local realities. The specific objectives of the project were as follows: 1. Promoting expression and public speaking: Through the projects in Aillevillers ("Being well with oneself") and Mandeure ("Youth in Radiance"), the goal was to encourage open dialogue on complex topics such as mental health, disability, or violence. The aim was to strengthen self-esteem to enable young people to speak confidently before decision-makers. 2. Developing autonomy and organizational skills: The initiatives in Rioz (Adolescent Festival) and Montbozon (Charity market and equestrian show for the Telethon) aimed to place young people in positions of total responsibility. From budget management to logistics, the rural youth orchestrated these events from start to finish, proving their ability to lead large-scale projects. 3. Strengthening regional roots and solidarity: In Combeaufontaine (Vach'Land) and Fougerolles (Inclusive concerts), the objective was to create social ties. Whether through the promotion of the agricultural world or the inclusion of people with disabilities in cultural events, the young people acted as ambassadors for cohesion in their territory. 4. Co-constructing a vision for the future on a European scale: The Strasbourg event served as a highlight to synthesize these experiences. The goal was to bring the voices of 145 rural youth from the region (including 41 from our federation) to the institutions. The use of the collective fresco in Strasbourg aimed to visually materialize their commitments to a sustainable and peaceful world. 5. Promoting the associative and intergenerational model: A major objective lay in the role of board members in supporting the delegation. Their presence aimed to secure the young people's journey and demonstrate the importance of volunteer commitment in the governance of youth projects. In summary, this project aimed to ensure that every rural youth feels legitimate in their citizenship, capable of acting locally and making an impact globally.
