This project, led by the Fédération Territoriale CENTRE SUD, was born from the desire to empower young people from rural areas and highlight their active contribution to society. The central objective was to transform these young people into active citizens, capable of managing complex local projects and engaging in dialogue with institutions. The project was built around two inseparable pillars: 1. Concrete local initiatives rooted in reality: Four groups of rural youth designed and managed local actions addressing identified needs in their territories: • In Mazille: The youth organized a local craft and producers' market from scratch. From scouting exhibitors to managing parking and reception logistics, they acted as true local economic developers, promoting short supply chains. • In Salins-les-Bains: The "Music in Us" project used artistic expression to break social isolation. By collaborating with cultural associations, they proved that culture is a powerful tool for self-confidence and social cohesion in rural areas. • In Morre: Through the creation of a committed theater play, the youth staged the values of the Republic and secularism. This writing and performing work served as a basis for citizen debates on living together. • At CFB: The "Smoothie Bike" project raised public awareness about health (colorectal cancer prevention) and sustainable nutrition in a fun way during official events like the MFR General Assembly. 2. A European and civic synthesis in Strasbourg: The participation of 51 rural youth from the Centre Sud Federation in the National Youth Festival marked the culmination of this journey. This key event added a European dimension to their local actions through: • The citizenship pathway dedicated to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), where they turned their experiences into concrete proposals. • The creation of a giant mural, a collective artwork symbolizing their aspirations for a sustainable world. • The "A Bird for Peace" workshop, allowing them to deliver their messages directly to the European decision-makers present. The transversal objectives were: • To promote autonomy: Moving from being spectators to organizers (budget management, communication, logistics). • To develop social skills: Teamwork, managing unexpected situations, and public speaking. • To involve board members: They accompanied the delegations, acting as facilitators and witnesses to the youth's commitment, thus strengthening intergenerational bonds within the MFR movement. • To certify learning outcomes: Using the Youthpass process so that each young person could identify the professional skills (sense of responsibility, initiative) developed during the project.
