"Towards Self-Determined Polynesian Youth" In implementing this Erasmus+ KA154 project, our primary goal was to foster the self-determination of young Polynesians and their active engagement in society, both locally and from a European perspective. The project addressed several educational, social, and intercultural objectives: To strengthen young people's self-confidence and self-esteem by promoting their talents, their ability to act, and their voice in public spaces. To raise awareness of local initiatives carried out in the MFRs, related to citizenship, culture, ecological transition, integration, and openness to Europe. To create spaces for expression, dialogue, and decision-making for young people, in order to encourage their involvement in collective projects and public policies that concern them. To develop intercultural skills through exchanges between young people from different Polynesian archipelagos and a metropolitan delegation (MFR de Gionges), to encourage openness and respect for diversity. To anchor young people in their Polynesian culture, while providing them with the tools to understand and engage with European dynamics. To propose recommendations to decision-makers, co-developed with young people, in order to evolve educational practices and youth policies in French Polynesia. Through these objectives, we aimed to build a bridge between Polynesian youth and the values of the European Union, supporting a generation that is aware, engaged, and capable of taking action for themselves and others.
