Through the implementation of this project, the Regional Federation of Rural Family Houses (FR des MFR) of Auvergne Rhône-Alpes aimed to: - Promote Education to Worlds and Others (EMA) practices within the MFRs by specifically integrating them into residential life and boarding school time outside of formal training hours. The goal was to transform these moments into opportunities for informal learning, complementing academic education, to foster open-mindedness, curiosity, and empathy among young people. - Support young people in their civic engagement within their communities by encouraging them to participate in political, associative, and social life. The aim was to provide them with the tools to become active contributors to collective and solidarity-based initiatives. - Encourage youth participation in dialogue and the co-construction of shared solutions by equipping them with facilitation tools and techniques to engage with diverse stakeholders (associations, movements, decision-makers). The objective was to create spaces for encounter and debate, grounded in the European Youth Goals and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as guiding frameworks. The objectives of our project were to enable young people to: - Become citizens aligned with themselves and active in fostering social cohesion: Strengthen their self-confidence and ability to express themselves, so they can assert themselves as legitimate actors in their communities. Develop social skills (listening, respect, cooperation) to promote cohesion and dialogue among peers and with other societal stakeholders. - Become aware of global interdependencies and the impact of their actions, to act in the most informed way possible: Understand the connections between local and global challenges (e.g., the environmental impact of consumption choices). Develop critical thinking to analyze information and act in a responsible and informed manner. - Encourage active participation in local initiatives (e.g., associative projects, youth municipal councils) and facilitate meetings with decision-makers, so young people can voice their ideas and contribute to the development of public policies.
