Regards Européens: Citoyens en Action — RECA project aimed to enable a group of young people to engage concretely with European, civic and societal issues, by becoming awareness-raising actors themselves through the creation of audiovisual tools. The main objective was to strengthen young people’s active participation, especially that of young people with fewer opportunities, by giving them the means to inform themselves, debate, produce content and share their messages with their peers. RECA also aimed to improve young people’s knowledge of the European Union, its values and the engagement opportunities it offers, particularly through Erasmus+, the European Solidarity Corps, intercultural exchanges and youth participation projects. Through workshops, mobility activities, meetings and local events, participants explored topics such as engagement, democratic participation, interculturality, the environment, the fight against discrimination and European mobility. Finally, the project aimed to support young people in acquiring concrete skills, both technical and transversal. The creation of audiovisual content — videos, street interviews, podcasts, vlogs, TV panels, etc. — was used as a tool for expression, learning and valorisation. It enabled participants to develop skills in communication, teamwork, project management, public speaking, creativity and digital tools, while producing reusable materials to raise awareness among other young people about civic and European engagement.
