Objectives

The experience in designing adult user education programmes on offer in similar national libraries in the world will help the Library staff to first evaluate, then improve and upgrade the Library's programmes, sharing the applicable results of the completed mobility with the wider library community at home. The main objectives are the improvement of the skills and knowledge of participants in the fields of information literacy education and their social and intercultural competencies.

Background

The National and University Library in Zagreb is unique in Croatia in terms of its role and way of organising work. With its dual role – the national library and the central library of the University of Zagreb – the Library encounters many challenges in development planning, monitoring trends and realising tasks, which makes the professional requirements hard to meet, because there is no similar Croatian organisation with which it could cooperate on the exchange of experiences and knowledge.
