The project achieved three key goals: we improved treatment work with offenders in the area of work with offeders that comited domestic violence and sexual offenders, strengthened the professional and personal competencies of officers, and increased the motivation of offeders for change. In this way, we strengthened the capacities of the service and contributed to greater recognition of probation as a carrier of change in the criminal justice system.
The Croatian Probation Service is part of the Ministry of Justice, Administration and Digital Transformation and provides support for the rehabilitation of offenders in the community. Due to the lack of specialized education, through the Erasmus+ mobility project, officers participated in job shadowing in order to acquire specific knowledge and methods of work in working with specific categories of offenders.
