Objectives

The main goal of the project was to create conditions to significantly improve the quality and impact of youth work by empowering youth workers through innovative non-formal education methods. The project aimed to foster personal and professional development among youth workers, enhance social inclusion, and support active citizenship and democratic participation among young people. Three specific objectives were: - Strengthen the professional competences and knowledge of youth workers by implementing learner-centered, experiential approaches based on the values of non-formal education. This included deepening understanding of non-formal education and promoting inclusivity in youth work practices. - Promote youth empowerment, active citizenship, and civic engagement by developing media literacy, advocacy skills, and critical thinking through targeted activities such as training course on the topic of alternative journalism and community-based civic monitoring. - Build sustainable European networks and partnerships focusing on rural and local contexts, facilitating the exchange of best practices, intercultural dialogue, and cooperation among youth organizations to improve youth work quality across regions. The project implemented two major staff mobility activities: "NFE Fairytale," focused on NFE and youth work quality, and "Alt Press," focused on civic engagement and alternative journalism. These activities collectively supported the achievement of the strategic objectives by equipping participants with updated skills, innovative methodologies, and practical tools to enhance youth work, particularly in rural contexts. Outcomes included a high level of professional development, stronger European partnerships, and an unexpected level of networking and partnership formation that opened additional cooperation avenues. The project also exceeded expectations in fostering empathy, inclusion practices, and civic engagement among participants, reinforcing youth participation and empowerment in their communities. Overall, the project effectively addressed its goals by enhancing youth worker competences, promoting inclusion and active citizenship, and laying a solid foundation for sustained positive impacts on youth work quality and European collaboration.
