The project implemented within the Erasmus+ Youth Accreditation framework in 2024 aimed to enhance the quality, inclusiveness, and international dimension of youth work through a series of interconnected mobility activities for young people and youth workers. Building on the long-term goals defined in DKolektiv’s Accreditation, the project focused on two main areas: (1) strengthening civic participation, social awareness, and employability among young people, and (2) improving the professional competences and methodological diversity of youth workers through the exchange of knowledge, practices, and cooperation at the European level. The implemented activities were designed as an integrated learning process encompassing personal development, professional empowerment of youth workers, and organizational learning. Through four main mobilities – two staff mobilities (Empowering Youth Work Through Volunteering and Spaces of Diversity), one youth exchange (Addressing Socio-Economic Exclusion Through Active Citizenship), and one study visit (Act Global!) – the project created a structured learning pathway focusing on strengthening youth work, promoting inclusion, and encouraging active citizenship. After the first year of implementing activities within the Erasmus+ Accreditation, DKolektiv sought to build upon the knowledge, skills, and competences acquired and apply them in the new cycle of activities. This approach of continuous learning enabled the strengthening of existing partnerships, the establishment of new collaborations, and further enhancement of organizational capacities – not only in youth work within the Erasmus+ framework but also in the organization’s everyday work with young people at the local level. In this way, the organization continued to develop processes that provide young people and youth workers with comprehensive support, encourage professional growth, and ensure the sustainable development of youth work at both local and international levels. The staff mobility Empowering Youth Work Through Volunteering: A Multi-Level Approach focused on understanding volunteering as a multidimensional process – personal, social, organizational, and professional. Youth workers explored strategies for volunteer management, motivation, inclusion, and recognition. The activity contributed to strengthening their competences for leading volunteer programmes, promoting ethical approaches, and valuing volunteering as a driving force for community development. The second staff mobility, Spaces of Diversity, offered experiential learning on diversity, interculturality, and inclusion. Participants used participatory methods and case studies to analyse social and institutional structures shaping inclusion and developed tools for creating just and open communities. The programme empowered youth workers to recognise diversity as a resource and to become agents of change within their local environments. The youth exchange Addressing Socio-Economic Exclusion Through Active Citizenship focused on developing young people’s awareness of socio-economic inequalities and their role in promoting more inclusive societies through civic engagement. Participants explored the causes of social vulnerability, learned about successful practices from across Europe, and developed their own initiatives using participatory learning methods. Particular emphasis was placed on understanding collective impact and active contribution to the community. The study visit Act Global!, held in Tallinn, enabled youth workers to connect local and global perspectives of youth work. By visiting organizations such as Mondo MTÜ, Shokkin Group Estonia, Viimsi Noortekeskus and the Estonian School Student Councils’ Union, participants gained insight into innovative approaches to global education, youth participation, and institutional support for youth work. The activity further highlighted the importance of intercultural dialogue, solidarity, and responsibility in times of global challenges. Overall, these mobilities contributed to achieving DKolektiv’s strategic objectives within the Erasmus+ Accreditation framework by strengthening democratic values, inclusion, and solidarity through experiential learning. The project improved the civic and professional competences of participants, strengthened the capacities of partner organizations, and fostered international cooperation that continues to generate results at local, national, and European levels.
