Objectives

By implementing this project we wanted to fulfil and contribute to our youth's needs, our and our partner organization's common needs. This means we wanted: - to increase knowledge about activism and participation. This includes general knowledge like Youth Goals, Sustainable Development Goals, Hart's ladder of participation, knowing Erasmus+ possibilities, volunteering possibilities etc. - to activate young people - many young people prefer to be passive or digital activists, to support a cause by likes and comments, but not making a genuine effort to contribute - to connect young people to their genuine causes - some topics are more mainstream than others but that doesn't mean those are the topics that get young people passionate and step into activism - to support young people in experiential learning (organizing local action), so they know where to start, how to (self) organise, how to frame their message and so on. - to give young people the opportunity to learn about other cultures and meet new friends, especially after the Corona era - to create space for young people to express themself and be creative since they have many interesting hobbies, they use different art expression form and there was a need to express themself through these ways For us and our partners, we wanted to include young people in the cultural activism that all partners have background in. We wanted to create a way to share our knowledge about activism and culture and learn some new and simple tools we can use to connect young people with their passion, and guide them and support them while they advocate for what they care about. All of these were reasons why we formed our project solution around the topic of Cultural Activism, with a hands-on approach. The main objective of this project is to empower young people to stand up for what they care for through different forms of cultural activism and hands-on, experiential approach (local actions). Specific objectives of the project were to: - create a space for sharing views, opinions and ideas with young people from different European cultures - support the personal development of young people, skills such as self-confidence, self-organisation, leadership, teamwork, self-presentation, and motivation. - deeply connect young people to topics or causes they care for - learn about general subtopics around activism, subtopics as Youth goals, Sustainable Development Goals, Hart's ladder of participation, Guerrilla activism etc. - learn to create, organize and carry out local actions - inform participants about non-formal learning opportunities through the Erasmus + and ESC programmes
