Objectives

The main goal of the project was to respond to the growing issue of sedentary lifestyles, stress, anxiety, and poor mental health among young people in Europe. Through a youth exchange in a natural and stimulating environment, the project aimed to raise awareness about the importance of physical activity, spending time outdoors, and caring for mental well-being. The objectives of the project, as defined in the application and achieved through implementation, were as follows: Empower young people through time spent in nature and physical activity. Activities such as climbing, hiking, fitness, yoga, and meditation served as tools for personal development, self-confidence, and connection with oneself and others. Participants became more aware of the importance of their own bodies and how an active lifestyle can positively affect mental health. Improve participants’ communication and teamwork skills. Participants worked in international teams, where they developed foreign language communication, collaboration, and leadership. Through preparing and implementing activities, they also participated in facilitation and took on active roles, which further encouraged their competences and sense of responsibility. Promote intercultural learning. Through structured intercultural evenings, informal conversations, and teamwork, participants learned about other cultures, traditions, and ways of thinking. A safe environment was created where tolerance, mutual respect, and acceptance of diversity were promoted. Increase digital competences and use them to disseminate results. Participants used digital tools (Canva, social media, photo and video editing tools) to document the project and create a digital guide. This helped them develop creativity, media literacy, and contribute to the dissemination of results. Promote sustainability and environmental awareness. The project took place in a natural setting, with an emphasis on minimizing environmental impact. A significant number of participants used environmentally friendly forms of transportation (train, bus), and some activities included education on nature conservation and responsible environmental behavior. Strengthen local impact and youth activism. After the exchange, participants were encouraged to organize local activities in their communities and to share the knowledge gained with their peers. In this way, the project continued to grow beyond the duration of the mobility itself. The project successfully achieved its goals, and participants came out of it motivated, empowered, and enriched with new knowledge, skills, and friendships. By connecting physical health, mental well-being, and intercultural learning, the project contributed to the development of healthier, more aware, and more active young people ready to contribute to their communities.
