Objectives

The project "ECO - NNECT - Young people together for a better future" stems from the growing awareness of global environmental problems resulting from overexploitation of natural resources and unsustainable consumption. We face challenges such as climate change, unsustainable consumption, various forms of pollution and the issue of proper disposal of waste.. The main topics of the project are: raising awareness about ecology, sharing the experience of partner countries - how they deal with the problem of recycling and pollution, acquiring new skills, encouraging active citizenship, accepting and overcoming challenges, realizing one's own capacities, strengthening self-respect and self-confidence. The project includes informal learning on the topic of ecology and the acquisition of responsible behavior of exchange participants in order to become active citizens, but acquiring competencies that will be useful in life and future work. The project "ECO-NNECT - Young people together for a better future" is an innovative initiative that connects ecology and inclusion through the active participation of young people aged 13 to 28. It is focused on young people with fewer opportunities, such as young people from alternative care, those with difficulties in development, and young people with previous experience in social initiatives, this project, structured as a youth exchange, provides a platform for developing their skills, strengthening self-confidence and promoting environmental awareness. The goal of the project is multiple. First of all, it wants to encourage young people to understand the importance of caring for the environment, encouraging them to perceive their local community, and then the country they come from, and ultimately the planet Earth itself, as a home that needs to be preserved for future generations. Through the exchange of experiences with partner countries, the project deals with concrete issues such as recycling and pollution, offering young people the opportunity to explore different approaches and solutions applied across Europe. In addition, the project also aims to develop positive attitudes towards nature and build self-confidence among young people. By participating in activities aimed at raising environmental awareness, young people are encouraged to recognize their capacities and to accept and overcome the challenges that are set before them. Through workshops, exercises and outdoor activities, young people get the opportunity to acquire new skills and competencies, which can be useful in their future personal and professional development. One of the key aspects of the project is encouraging active citizenship among young people. Through participation in the project, young people are encouraged to take an active role in their communities and to contribute to positive social changes. In addition, the project promotes the inclusion of young people from socially excluded groups, providing them with the opportunity for empowerment and capacitating them for a more active role in their local communities. The "ECO-NNECT" project also aims to encourage cooperation and exchange among young people at the European level. Through exchange activities, young people from Croatia, Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina have the opportunity to get to know similar, but sufficiently different cultures, traditions and customs of their peers, which contributes to the development of intercultural understanding and tolerance as well as the building of a common future based on reconciliation with the past and mutual respect and acceptance. Furthermore, the project promotes youth mobility and informal learning as key elements of personal and professional development. Through participation in the project, young people have the opportunity to acquire new knowledge and skills and develop attitudes and values that will be useful to them in the future. Through planning, preparation and evaluation activities, the project provides a structured approach to youth development and strengthening of their capacities. Participants have the opportunity to learn about different methods of working with young people and ways to implement programs focused on inclusion and social integration. Ultimately, the "ECO-NNECT" project represents an important step towards the creation of sustainable societies in which young people have the opportunity to realize their full potential and contribute to positive changes in their communities.
