The project “Youth Work Horizons: Samobor meets Hafnarfjörður” aimed to enhance the competences, knowledge and skills of youth workers, with a particular focus on developing innovative programmes that promote sustainability and environmental protection, as well as on fostering youth engagement within the local community. By participating in a job shadowing activity in cooperation with the partner organisation Hitt Húsið, staff members of the Public Open University Samobor had the opportunity to exchange experiences and good practices with Icelandic youth workers. This led to increased professional motivation, greater job satisfaction, and strengthened their readiness for continued professional development and career advancement. One of the project's objectives was also to provide opportunities for networking, intercultural learning, using English as a working language in international cooperation, and encouraging interest in international topics and active European citizenship.
