The main goal was to strengthen organisational capacities through: (1) developing and testing a methodological guide and curriculum for work with heterogeneous youth groups; (2) establishing operational processes (coordination, monitoring, evaluation, dissemination) and digital collaboration; (3) reinforcing cooperation between NGOs and local authorities for long-term community impact; (4) empowering a network of mentors through learning from international experts; and (5) contributing to horizontal priorities (inclusion, green transition, digital transformation, youth participation). A secondary goal was to empower participants through practical film production and the development of transversal competences, serving as evidence of the applicability of the developed methods.
The project was launched to strengthen the capacities of all partner organisations working with young people from diverse, often vulnerable backgrounds, and to introduce structured, transferable methods based on film. We identified a lack of accessible, high-quality programmes in our local contexts, especially in rural areas, as well as the need for a joint curriculum, methodological tools, and clear processes for quality management. Another key need was transnational cooperation and closer involvement of local authorities to ensure sustainable practices and inclusive policies. Each partner aimed to both share its expertise and learn from others – combining experiences in film education, intercultural dialogue, and community engagement. Together we also relied on SALTO resources and digital tools to strengthen collaboration. The project additionally addressed barriers linked to mobility, language, and access to culture, with a strong focus on inclusion and environmental awareness.
