The objectives of the project were as follows: C.1. To increase the participation of young people with fewer opportunities in environmental and social activities, taking into account that many young people rarely have the opportunity to participate. C.2. To increase the proportion of young people who are aware of and interested in participating in these opportunities. C.3. To increase the skills, knowledge, and willingness of young people to develop local-level activities that bring social and community benefits. In this reporting year, the aim was to implement three activities – Youth Camp: Becoming a Green Ambassador, Forest. Jump., and Including the Green Element: towards ECO-Friendly Youth Events. The primary aim of these activities was to empower young people through non-formal learning focused on sustainability, mental wellbeing, and activism, while promoting intercultural dialogue and active participation among youth, especially those with fewer opportunities. In the Youth Exchange Youth Camp – Becoming a Green Ambassador, we aimed to inspire and enable young people to act as “Green Ambassadors” by engaging them in experiential learning on sustainability, climate change, and advocacy, while promoting peer learning and intercultural collaboration through youth exchange. The main objectives of the mobility were to raise awareness about key environmental challenges such as pollution and climate change, foster peer-to-peer learning, and develop youth leadership. It empowered participants to act as change-makers within their communities by improving their capacity for teamwork, critical thinking, and environmental activism using creative, hands-on methods like debates, storytelling, and open-space workshops. Participants strengthened their environmental awareness and sense of responsibility through practical and reflective sessions, improving their confidence, teamwork, advocacy skills, and intercultural openness. The general aim of Forest. Jump. was to promote holistic wellbeing by connecting youth with green practices, mental health tools, and physical activities such as yoga and sport, while encouraging reflection, creativity, and intercultural dialogue in an open and supportive environment. The activity focused on deepening young people’s understanding of the relationship between mental and physical health and to equip them with tools like breathwork, sport, and green habits that promote wellbeing. It fostered non-violent communication, conflict resolution, and concentration techniques, while empowering participants to advocate for mental health in their communities through creative outputs and dissemination initiatives. Participants gained tools to support mental health, discovered the role of nature in personal balance, improved communication, and developed inclusive approaches to raise awareness in their local communities. Including the Green Element: towards ECO-Friendly Youth Events was a training course which aimed to strengthen the capacity of youth workers to design and implement environmentally sustainable events by combining practical methods, reflection, and creative collaboration rooted in nature-based non-formal education. The activity’s objectives were to provide tools and knowledge to design sustainable youth events, foster eco-conscious attitudes, and encourage participants to take environmental action locally. It promoted peer learning and collaborative planning while integrating experiential activities like eco-scans, tree planting, and nature hikes. The goal was to build a supportive network of youth workers advocating for green practices. Participants learned practical green tools, deepened their ecological thinking, and strengthened their confidence in planning and promoting sustainable, community-oriented youth events.
