Objectives

During 2024-2025, the Association Kállósemjéni Diákokért és Ifjakért Egyesület implemented two complementary youth exchanges under its Erasmus Youth Accreditation: Digital Storytelling and Wellbeing Warriors. Both mobilities were in line with the long-term goals of the organisation - supporting the personal development, community engagement, and social inclusion of young people, with special attention to participants with fewer opportunities. The background of the project was based on the real needs of local and regional youth: developing digital literacy and critical thinking, promoting safe and responsible use of technology, and encouraging healthy lifestyle habits to maintain physical, mental and emotional well-being. These topics were identified as highly relevant for today’s young generation, who face increasing social, psychological, and ethical challenges due to constant online presence. The Digital Storytelling exchange aimed to deepen participants’ understanding of digital culture and artificial intelligence, helping them explore both the opportunities and risks of technological development. It focused on the ethical use of digital tools, copyright and data protection, and responsible content creation. Through creative workshops, participants produced their own digital stories, learning how to use technology as a means of communication, social awareness, and creative self-expression. In addition to digital competences, the exchange promoted teamwork, critical thinking, and intercultural sensitivity. The Wellbeing Warriors exchange focused on physical, emotional, and mental well-being, responding to issues such as stress, anxiety, and burnout among young people. Activities included group games, team sports, yoga and relaxation practices, as well as discussions on the importance of personal time and self-care. The objective was to help participants understand the importance of balance and to develop healthy habits that can sustain their well-being in the long term. Participants also shared their own cultural traditions, learning to appreciate diversity and to support each other in a spirit of respect and cooperation. Both exchanges placed a strong emphasis on intercultural learning, openness, and tolerance between young people from different countries. Beyond acquiring new knowledge, the aim was to build international friendships, strengthen community ties, and establish the foundation for future youth cooperation. The inclusive approach of the project ensured that young people with fewer opportunities could also take part, many of them for the first time in an international learning environment. This contributed to their self-confidence, communication skills, and sense of independence. The two projects contributed directly to the key principles of the Erasmus+ Programme: promoting inclusion and diversity, encouraging sustainable and responsible behaviour, and supporting the personal growth of young people as active, conscious, and healthy European citizens.
