Objectives

The partner organizations here involved have witnessed a notable increase in their number of volunteers, followers and supporters. Yet, a significant portion of these individuals have not engaged in any mobility projects and only a few have ventured abroad. Many are somewhat familiar with Erasmus+, primarily its academic essence, yet travel infrequently, exhibit low self-esteem and confidence, lack international friendships but possess a keen curiosity to explore, travel and connect with peers from diverse cultures. This scenario presents an ideal foundation for organizing a youth exchange. The choice of food as a theme emerges from its popularity among young people, rivaled only by sports and music, making it a compelling, accessible and effective tool for achieving our objectives. This youth exchange aimed to offer young people a "once-in-a-lifetime" experience that is both educational and experiential, with objectives of: - Cultivate values such as tolerance, empathy, cooperation, inclusivity, respect, and appreciation for diversity; - Foster multiculturalism, enhance intercultural dialogue, strengthen a sense of European Union identity and encourage social inclusion; - Support personal development by improving essential "soft skills" and attitudes like self-esteem, empowerment, selfawareness and accountability; - Reconnect young individuals with their local heritage by rediscovering gastronomic traditions and introducing them to the cultures of our partner countries; - Motivate youth towards greater community engagement and act as informed advocates for active citizenship; - Challenge stereotypes and dismantle prejudices; - Highlight the significance of nutrition and guide young people towards healthier eating habits (minimizing waste, encouraging reuse, focusing on quality and provenance for food preservation, reducing consumption of "junk food" and favoring seasonal and local produce); - Cultivate an environmentally respectful mindset; - Promote youth mobility and the benefits of non-formal education; - Facilitate new friendships and professional connections.
