Objectives

The overall goal of the project was to enable young people to become aware, responsible and active social actors who are able to reflect on current global and local challenges and contribute to the development of their communities through concrete actions. To this end, the project was built on three closely related thematic focuses: Environmental protection and action against climate change Our goal was for participants to gain theoretical and practical knowledge about sustainability, environmentally conscious lifestyles and individual and community-level action options. The project aimed to ensure that young people not only received information, but also recognized their own responsibility and were able to implement environmentally friendly solutions that could be applied in their everyday lives. This included, for example, a litter pick-up campaign or a canvas bag-making workshop. Mental health and anxiety management The project aimed to raise awareness of the importance of mental well-being, with particular attention to climate anxiety and the uncertainties affecting young people. We wanted to create a safe learning and reflection environment in which participants could learn about their own coping strategies, develop their emotional awareness and receive support to strengthen their mental resilience. This included, for example, a program with actors and a mental health professional. Strengthening the public and social role of young people The project aimed to increase the willingness, self-confidence and competences of young people in community and public life processes. To this end, we provided practical programs and learning opportunities that encouraged them to take action and gave them the opportunity to experience the importance of active citizenship through their own initiatives. This included, for example, a conversation with the deputy mayor. The professional framework of the project was provided by the Sustainable Development Goals defined by the UN and the youth goals formulated in the European Union Youth Strategy, thus ensuring the European and global relevance of the project. Another key objective was to promote social inclusion. To this end, the project consciously included: young people living in rural areas and those with social or economic disadvantages. Overall, the project objectives aimed to result in tangible knowledge that can be used in everyday life, positive attitudes and a long-term sustainable change of perspective among the participating young people, while contributing to the implementation of the horizontal and youth priorities of the Erasmus+ programme.
