The project aimed to strengthen youth participation in Szécsény by actively involving young people in the planning, implementation and evaluation of local youth activities. The initiative was launched by Egyesek Youth Association in the context of establishing a youth center, with the intention to ensure that the future programs and activities reflect the real needs and interests of local young people. The core objective of the project was to empower a group of 15 local young people to become active contributors to community life and youth work processes, rather than passive beneficiaries. Through a year-long participatory process, the project sought to develop their competences in democratic participation, community development and entrepreneurial learning, while fostering dialogue between young people, local stakeholders and decision-makers. We also aimed to organize the first youth festival in Szécsény and make it as a tradition in the life of the town. The project addressed key priorities of the EU Youth Strategy by promoting inclusive democratic participation, social inclusion, active citizenship and youth-led initiatives. It also aimed to create sustainable structures for youth involvement at local level, contributing to the long-term development of youth work in Szécsény.
