The long-term goal of the association was to encourage young people to take advantage of the opportunities provided by Erasmus+ and the European Solidarity Corps. During the project planning, we used the Youth Participation Toolkit with the participants, where they identified language barriers as their greatest obstacle. We hoped that, with the support of their accompanying mentors during the project, they will be able to overcome this fear and become increasingly motivated to learn foreign languages and explore other international opportunities. The participants also expressed through the Youth Participation Toolkit that they wanted to implement the project because they wished to learn about the cultures of European countries, with a particular focus on music. They were eager to discover more about the musical habits of different countries, ranging from radio shows, popular music, street music, and traditional music and dance to outdoor events, concerts, and even festivals. Beyond observing these events and traditions, the young people wanted to connect with locals and learn about these topics through conversations. They planned to document their experiences in their travel journals. The participants also stated that without the support provided by this grant, they would not be able to take advantage of the DiscoverEU opportunity, primarily due to their families' financial situations.
