Objectives

Across the Erasmus+ accredited programme, the overarching objective was to support the personal, social, and civic development of young people and youth workers through inclusive, high-quality international mobility. Our accreditation objectives are as follows: Objective 1 : Working with UBU targeted young people who are socially excluded from our communities, who are identified as, young travellers, lgbt+, Roma, Syrian or direct provision.. Out of education and young people who are from social deprived backgrounds. These are UBU targeted groups that engage with us weekly. Objective is to continue with this engagement. Identify topics that are affecting them or needs in their community so that we can empower them to want to take action within the community. Objective 2 : We see youth participation as an opportunity to develop and identify needs for young people in this area, from skills and knowledge, values and attitudes that influence their choices in life. Targeting European Youth Goals will allow them to address local and global needs which impact their lives. Share results with their communities. Objective 3 : Young people with few opportunities the chance to open their eyes to other communities, lives, cultures, values and identities to enable them to become active citizen, enhance their employability opportunities and challenge polices and contribute to their communities in a positive manner. Building resilience and life skills Objective 4 : Opportunity to enhance youth practice, skills, knowledge, values, Attitudes, intercultural competence and partnerships. Implement a youth work agenda to increase recognition of non formal learning to highlight the importance of youth work. Objective 5 : The need to develop opportunities for virtual mobility and blended mobility which will meet the current challenges and European Youth Strategies. Objective 6 : To ensure that the knowledge and opportunities for this work is shared throughout the organisation by developing a team of international youth workers. This year we decided to work with the most challenging at risk young People within our Projects to give them the opportunity to participate in an Erasmus. In the last number of years while working within the UBU targets we picked the best well behaved young people who we felt could trust. This year we took on the challenge as we felt more experienced in running exchanges to tackle young people who constantly presented with concerns and behavioural issues. It was a risk but we felt that they now might be ready to step up into the space so we gave them the opportunity to participate. Activities such as Pride Across Borders, Mind Your Head, Positive Choices, and the Youth Worker Mobility (Walk the Talk) in Portugal were designed to strengthen key competences including self-awareness, emotional regulation, communication, resilience, empathy, and learning to learn. A strong emphasis was placed on inclusion, particularly engaging young people at risk of early school leaving, young people from Traveller and migrant backgrounds, LGBTQ+ young people, and those experiencing mental health challenges, trauma, or social isolation, by creating safe, supportive, and affirming spaces that fostered trust, confidence, and positive social connections. The programme also aimed to deepen understanding of European identity, human rights, equality, climate and environmental justice, and active citizenship, using creative and non-formal methods such as storytelling, podcasting, illustration, activism, physical activity, and youth-led workshops to encourage reflection, personal expression, and positive decision-making. For youth workers, the programme focused on professional development through the exchange of practice, strengthening inclusive, trauma-informed and rights-based
