As we are all members of a music group in our local youth club, when we first heard about this amazing opportunity to explore other European cultures through our shared passion of music we couldn't let it slip away from us. We have been discussing and thoroughly planning our potential trip across mainland Europe. As stated in our origional application, we wanted take on this project as it would promote diversity amongst us (the youth) by allowing us to meet people of different nationalities and cultures during our travels. As well as this, we thought it would allow us to experiment and integrate various new foreign cultural aspects into our own passion and share it with our peers. This project would give us the opportunity to build on our teamwork skills and this would benefit our group as we would return home with a broader vision gained through experience. The experience would inspire creativity through meeting new musicians, collaboration and general exposure to other cultures, just in general be a fun experience for all of us. We entered this project through the lens of music and cultural experience. We felt that these are good topics as music is a broad, common and integral part of cultures across the world and it can often be viewed as a universal language that often breaks down language barriers between cultures. Music is a constant across all continents, as it is a vital part of human nature. Through music you can use your strength to showcase our diverse and rich culture and enrich our own approach to music with aspects from other cultures. In our application we said "We would love to experience this through gigs, perfomances, museums, buskers, and any other way we could enjoy music in each place." So we had the objective of visitng these type of spots on our trip.
