What did you want to achieve with the implementation of the project? What were the objectives of the project? The project had started from the analysis of some statistical data that saw: - young people who were concerned about the effects of climate change and pollution but were not implementing good practices to counter the phenomenon - young people who had progressively lost contact with nature and are increasingly shut in or, in the best cases, confined to urban environments - young people skilled in the use of digital skills in limited areas (social networking, WebTV, Internet, etc.) but who were struggling to grasp the opportunities offered by advanced digital skills such as photography, drone piloting, and the use of photo editing and video editing software - young people who could not maintain personal relationships and work in groups - unmotivated, bored youth with at risk of dropping out of school after the first few years. We assessed that formal learning techniques are not always the best to intervene on identified critical issues involving young people. We felt that it would be preferable to engage and motivate young people in stimulating activities, trips abroad, meetings with peers from different countries. Non-formal learning activities can motivate young people to engage, work in groups, acquire advanced digital skills, and manage daily life by adopting good environmental protection practices. The goal was to raise awareness among young people about climate change, pollution, and good daily practices that everyone should adopt, while gaining digital skills and European awareness. Participants were able to transfer the benefits of the project into their daily lives: - awareness of their own abilities now enables participants to engage in study and work, improving performance and countering early dropout. - the ability to relate to others and work in groups has improved relationships within schools and youth organizations, counteracting violence, discrimination and aggression. - the acquisition of digital skills (photography and drone piloting) enabled participants to improve their school performance, stimulated by the positive results achieved during the project. - these skills boosted the participants' chances of entering the world of work, as digital skills are increasingly indispensable within companies. - knowledge of different cultures and the ability to speak in English enabled participants to maintain international friendships, evaluate job opportunities at the European level, and overcome the fear of traveling. - sensitivity to ecological issues has been and will be an incentive to adopt good practices.
