The project aimed to develop an inclusive and replicable educational model to strengthen the digital autonomy of older adults and improve their ability to independently use and access health, administrative, financial and communication services. Simple and accessible training materials (eSeniors Workbook and Methodological Guide for Educators) were therefore produced to provide practical and immediate tools for digital learning. As hoped, the digital divide among beneficiaries has narrowed; at the same time, guided activities, practical exercises and personalized support have increased the confidence and skills of people over 60. The project aimed to combat stereotypes and ageism: it disseminated images, testimonials, and results that succeeded in promoting the active participation of older people in community life and offered them the opportunity to open up to the European dimension and contribute to the goals of inclusion and well-being. A key objective was to ensure sustainability and continuity beyond the duration of the project: the establishment of eSeniors Walk-in Labs, permanent and free digital support points, ensures replicability and is a source of new projects.
The eSeniors project was created to address a growing digital divide affecting the over-60 population, with direct impacts on their autonomy, access to essential services and psychological well-being. Preliminary interviews conducted in the involved areas showed that most elderly people are unable to independently use healthcare, financial and administrative platforms, resulting in isolation and dependence on others. There is also a complete lack of simple and truly inclusive educational materials for this target group. eSeniors therefore addresses concrete and documented needs, offering accessible training tools and an educational model built around the specific needs of the elderly, with a strong commitment to combating stereotypes and ageism.
