What we wanted to achieve in implementing the project was to improve the skills, starting with those of the Applicant, relating to digital and multimedia technologies, particularly focused on audiovisual design and production. This activity was carried out in the first 6 months of the project. During this time, the partner was also updated on the PM2 project management methodology. Then. Over the next 10 months, these acquired skills were put into practice in the training program dedicated to seniors through an experiential workshop, particularly for residents of older neighborhood social housing, who statistically lack digital skills and are excluded from adequate training programs for functional and informed use of digital. Thanks to this direct, field-based activity, the beneficiaries first designed and then produced their video testimonies, the beating heart of the entire project.
Digital technology is changing people's lives. It is necessary that this transformation benefits all citizens, starting with the Seniors, while helping to achieve the goal of a climate-neutral Europe by 2050. Thus, as newcomers, with the project, we focused attention on how to be truly European citizens, active, included, and integrated, thanks to essential digital expertise, building a collective, humanist memory that collects life stories of senior European citizens and citizens, from an intergenerational and interregional perspective. Awareness-raising for diversity was thus promoted, through the sharing of trans-European memories, strengthening the EU's achievements regarding our past. In this regard, the importance of the role of continuing education is crucial, and its implementation, with the Seniors, was the crowning achievement, emphasizing digital citizenship, between access and inclusion, learning and creativity, digital literacy in new media and information, ethics and empathy, between health and well-being, between presence and communication, rights and responsibilities, privacy and security.
