SOCIAL MEDIA FOOD was a project in which we combined knowledge of sustainable, good, and "slow" food with the tool that can both extol and demonize it: the internet, and in particular the incorrect use of social media. The core of the project was the relationship with food: our relationship with it has undergone profound transformations with the advent of social media. Social media has changed the way we live and interact with others, but also the way we eat. Young people are the most vulnerable and potential victims of food challenges: food porn and mukbang, two phenomena in which food is fashion, appearance, an obsession taken to extremes and excess. Internet content is available to children, adolescents, and young people who may have a problematic relationship with food and who, therefore, through the mechanism of identification, can develop unhealthy eating habits, seeking immediate gratification, leaving room for junk food, between the latest food trends and the latest fitness trends. Indeed, the project also aimed to raise awareness of a healthy relationship with the table. A meal is a social opportunity for meeting within a concrete, not virtual, reality; eating and communication have always been inseparable, since food not only satisfies a basic need, but also responds to the need for care, exchange, and affection. This is why we restored food's social value, as a tool for bringing people and cultures together, a tool for inclusion and integration between different and similar cultures. These objectives were achieved through practical culinary activities, digital activities (creating a blog, website, podcast, social media content about food), video game challenges (using gamification), but also daily practices for reducing waste and reducing food waste. At the end of the project, we can say that social networks, technological applications, and the opportunities offered by video games can help young people recover a healthy relationship with good food and can help other young people avoid health risks due to unhealthy behaviors and participation in "food challenges." The project achieved the following objectives: Improving the quality of life through healthy cooking and understanding its impact on well-being; Proper use of the internet and social networks, including for the promotion of sustainable eating; Raising awareness of food waste and its impact on the environment through daily activities; Promoting the consumption and production of local, organic, and eco-friendly products among young people; Raising awareness of equal access to healthy food; Acquiring greater digital skills; Improving employability; Raising awareness of the Erasmus+ program.
