With the Sweet & Sustainable project, we aimed to systematically and thoroughly address sustainability issues related to the mobility of people and the transportation of goods. We considered in detail, country by country, the positive and negative aspects of different modes of mobility. The main objective was to provide young participants with the tools to understand the environmental, social, and economic impact of transport, to better interpret the balance between the right to travel and pollution, thus stimulating critical reflections on daily behaviors and encouraging the adoption of more sustainable practices. In addition to considering the direct impacts on mobility, the project sought to raise awareness among young people about the broader concept of sustainable development, encouraging them to reflect on their role as conscious and responsible citizens. The aim was to stimulate critical thinking, proactivity, and the adoption of responsible behaviors not only in the area of transport but also in all aspects of personal and collective life. The project, therefore, aimed to transform young people’s awareness into concrete actions, with the goal of creating a positive impact on individual behaviors and local communities. Thanks to reflections on more sustainable mobility and collaborative activities carried out within national groups and the broader international team, participants had the opportunity to engage with different realities, share experiences and knowledge, develop new skills, and become true ambassadors of sustainable practices in their respective communities. In doing so, they contributed to the spread of a European culture focused on sustainability and social and civic responsibility within their local contexts. General objectives of the project: Develop skills among young participants, including specific competencies related to sustainable mobility, and transversal skills such as teamwork, organization, and coordination, critical thinking, effective use of digital tools, social and intercultural skills. Raise awareness among young people on relevant social issues and encourage them to become more responsible, active, and engaged citizens at both the European and local levels. Specific objectives of the project: Promote the principles of sustainable development and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), with particular focus on Goals IX (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure) and XI (Sustainable Cities and Communities). Encourage the understanding and adoption of conscious practices for soft and sustainable mobility, promoting behaviors that reduce the environmental impact of transporting people and goods. Engage young people in concrete actions aimed at raising awareness among larger groups, creating a network to disseminate the best practices acquired during the project. Develop artistic and creative skills, encouraging participants to imagine and implement urban regeneration initiatives related to sustainable mobility and public spaces. Promote fundamental European values such as equality, diversity, and inclusion, as well as principles of solidarity, tolerance, and justice, making the project an opportunity for both personal and collective growth
