Objectives

The project "Focus on the Planet" was born from the idea of five young photographers from Italy, Spain, Poland, Turkey and Slovakia, united by the desire to address the challenges posed by climate change affecting their communities. Their regions have been the scene of severe natural phenomena such as fires, floods, droughts and rising sea levels, events that threaten the environment and the safety of people. Using photography as a means of expression and awareness, the project aimed to involve young Europeans in the promotion of environmental sustainability. This visual language, easily accessible and capable of overcoming cultural differences, has been transformed into an opportunity for practical learning and intercultural dialogue, giving young people the opportunity to talk about environmental issues and propose sustainable solutions. The aim of "Focus on the Planet", therefore, was to transform the participants into promoters of environmental change within their communities, using visual art to generate awareness and responsibility. The project used digital tools, such as smartphones and social media to spread the message globally and promote a wider social impact. In summary, the aims of the project were: - To raise awareness of environmental issues through photography, deepening the understanding of the challenges and possible solutions; - To stimulate the active participation of young people, enhancing photography as a form of expression and ecological commitment; - To encourage creativity and innovation in addressing environmental crises, exploring new perspectives through art; - To encourage the exchange of ideas and good practices between young people from different countries, promoting international cooperation for sustainability; - To inspire concrete changes in local communities and at European level, disseminating significant images and stories created by participants.
